Explore some of Costa Rica’s famous national parks located just a day excursion away from your Liberia hotel or resort. Cruise down one of Costa Rica’s longest rivers in Palo Verde National Park, soak in one of the hot springs of Rincón de la Vieja National Park and admire breathtaking waterfalls in Tenorio Volcano National Park. Keep an eye out for exotic species like sloths, toucans, howler monkeys, tapirs and more! 

You’ll also find some of Costa Rica’s most beautiful Pacific Coast beaches in the area. Tamarindo Beach is famous for its surfing with incredible breaks and consistent waves – it even hosts several surfing competitions throughout the year. Samara Beach is another popular spot, where you can soak up the sun on the calm sands or snorkel in the crystal-clear waters off the coast. 

 

National language: Spanish, although English is widely spoken at resorts and in major tourist destinations. 

Currency: CRC (Costa Rica Colón) although USD is widely accepted

Voltage: 110V. Most Canadian devices use 120V which are compatible with 110V, but we recommend bringing an adaptor with voltage conversion for items using motors, heating or three-prong plugs.
